Just about all my posts are this genre.... I refer to is as Freeform , but its also called Weird/Experimenta/WC Bass...When these artists tag it on Soundcloud, Bandcamp it usually says 1 of the 4 if not all 4..

I've called it westcoast bass. It's a difficult genre to pindown I think because of it's postmodern nature in the sense that it's a mix of a lot of different bass music genres. I think one defining characteristic would be the hip hop influence and not just trap.

This kind of track is likely to be put in the Experimental or Halftime Section and I don't know that it really belongs in there. In fact, many "West Coast Bass" tracks end up in the experimental section largely because of their broken, syncopated rhythms which is prevalent in many of these kinds of tracks. This very post by you @FrnchPAirI think could be put into a West Coast Bass Section

The Experimental section was created to put all of these types of tracks in before it became a bit more mainstream. I see a lot of labels (Saturate, Sound Museum, Samsara, etc..) coming through with more music like this as well. I like the term Breaks Bass, but it may be confused with breaks/breakbeat. Experimental Bass is pretty open ended, but this sound is definitely picking up.

or.. another idea, rename Experimental to Leftfield Bass and make the mods' job easier?

Before I go creating a redundant subgenre since so many of the posts are already there and it would be easier to rename and remove tracks you didnt think fit. Of course i will gladly move all the tracks recommended for moving from dubstep, trap, and halftime to this section as well. this should clear up halftime/halfstep as well and make that genre more clear.

Hmm i don't wanna shit on anyones enthousiasm but imo it's a bit too wide-spread to all throw it in a new subsection.

For example, these 3 tunes have a VERY different sound imo. So a stricter description might work?

Like Informer is just plain (deep) halftime to me.

The new sub-genre Leftfield Bass has replaced Experimental. I will move all tracks suggested after a quick review. You may report any additional Posts with the report button, and start creating Topics/posts in the newly named section. Thanks for everybody's input!@stijn1191 @twonb1tc4 @Monster Juice @mrchefsucks
